Under Heather Buch’s leadership, Lane County created a comprehensive Climate Action Plan. The plan is centered on real community engagement, developing resiliency and adaptation strategies, creating good-paying green jobs, and supporting climate-friendly industries. Lane County has already begun this work by calculating our county’s total greenhouse gas emissions and setting robust goals for reductions. In addition, Heather has worked to help pass bills in the Oregon Legislature to promote corporate responsibility for manufacturers of products that cannot be recycled.
 

Throughout her second term, Heather will work with community partners and county staff to ensure we remain on track to hit these climate and economic goals. She is also committed to working with Oregon’s congressional leaders to back legislation supporting responsible forest thinning.
