MAKING HOUSING AFFORDABLE FOR EVERYONE
Home prices keep rising, putting ownership out of reach for too many families, especially young people and seniors. As a former realtor, Heather Buch understands what’s broken. She supports cutting red tape for builders, updating land use laws, and helping smaller cities build the infrastructure needed for new homes at reasonable prices.
Heather has backed public-private partnerships that have helped build more than 600 affordable housing units. These projects help families and individuals move off the streets and connect to services they need to thrive. They include The Commons on MLK with 24-7 support services, a new Shelter & Navigation Center at the old VA clinic, The Nel, Bridges on Broadway, and new homes for families with children at the Lane County Fairgrounds.
